After a gallant showing in the Champion of Champions Battle Royal this past Wednesday at AWWE Confrontation, Kofi Kingston is all smiles as he sits on the top turnbuckle looking down at the filming camera. His AWWE Cruiserweight title on his right shoulder, Kofi looks down at the glistening gold, pointing at his name engraved on the championship nameplate before the camera zooms out, showing the AWWE ring being surrounded by a steel cage.
"While others might be threatened by the very idea of a steel cage match, I embrace it."
Still sitting on the top turnbuckle, Kofi looks up at the cage opening, and begins brushing his free hand against the cage wall.
"To me, this steel cage isn't a just a weapon. To me, this cage isn't a method of confinement. To me, to Kofi Kingston, your AWWE Cruiserweight Champion, this steel cage is seen an opportunity. You see, while the average competitor has nightmares over the idea of having their faces grated against these walls, while they toss and turn over the notion of having their warm blood dripping down their faces, I smile."
Kofi points at his smile.
"I am full of confidence. I am full of positivity. You see this smile? It's a symbol of my paradise. As I sit here, my back leaning against these walls, I might as well be sitting on my beach chair, watching the elegant waves of the Atlantic Ocean. There is no worry on this face. After this Sunday, after AWWE Unforgiven, this title will remain on this shoulder, and not around the waist of Washington-native Brian Kendrick, and if you need any evidence, allow me to show you."
Getting up from the sitting position, he stands up, and begins to climb the cage. His championship still propped on his shoulder as continued his ascent. Each movement was fluid, there wasn't a slight hesitation showcased as he continued to climb his way to the top. Each gap might as well been a large step on an extremely sturdy ladder. As he reached the top, instead of climbing over, he stopped, and propped his foot on one side of the cage, and then leaned his back against the corner. Then in what looked to be a tribute to the late great Eddie Guerrero, he lomfortably laid down, as Eddie would do when he decided to taunt in the corner during his matches.
"Welcome to my paradise."
The scene ends.
